A pram essentially becomes a ‘travel system’ when it can be used with an infant carrier in place of the carrycot or pushchair seat. It’s a great option for carrying a sleepy baby from pram to car without too much disturbance, as you can simply attach the car seat straight to the chassis.

If you’re hoping to have a second child soon after the first, look for a single pram that can be converted into a double. This means that rather than buying a new pram, you can simply reconfigure the one you already have to suit your growing family.
