Looking for inspiration on how to style your little one’s nursery? The Edit caught up with Senior Fabric Designer, Cassie Conboy, on all things nursery décor, as well as how she would style our brand-new Valencia furniture set.
Tell us about the Valencia nursery collection.
The Valencia nursery furniture collection is designed to grow with your little one from newborn to toddler. With a timeless white finish and natural ash accents, it’s the perfect canvas for creating a calming and inviting space within your home.
The two-tone collection comprises three furniture pieces designed for long-lasting quality and durability over the years. The Valencia cot bed is designed to grow with your child, suitable from birth up to approximately 4 years old. Featuring an adjustable three-height base, it can be lowered gradually as your little one begins to roll, sit, and stand. The removable railings also allow you to transform it into a toddler bed using the same base and mattress for continued comfort.
The spacious dresser offers ample storage space for your child's clothing and essentials, with three deep drawers and a removable changer top, ideal for nappy changes or extra storage as they grow. Finally, the Valencia wardrobe provides excellent organisation for your little dreamer’s clothes. It includes two hanging rails and two shelves, with the rails easily removable to accommodate your child’s growing wardrobe.
How would you style Valencia?
Thanks to its calming, neutral design, Valencia is super versatile and can be styled around a wide range of themes and colour palettes. With our styling of Valencia we’ve chosen timeless décor pieces to give the room an elegant aesthetic that can be enjoyed for years to come. Using a more neutral base allows you to build up from it with pops of colour and different textures in the future.
To complement Valencia’s classic tones, look at boucle textures, delicate prints and soft pastels. Or, if you’re looking to add a colour pop, retro blues, olive greens and dusty terracottas are perfectly on trend for this season.
Designing a nursery can be daunting – any tips on where to start?
1. Choose your theme
Whether you want to make a statement with bold colours and vibrant prints or create a serene space with neutral tones and cosy furnishings, choosing a theme is the perfect starting point. It sets the tone for the entire nursery, allowing you to design the space with intention and style.
2. Plan for growth
Your little one's nursery will serve them well beyond their early years, potentially lasting until they’re ready for school. To avoid redecorating, choose a theme that can evolve with their growth and change up the accessories instead.
The Valencia nursery furniture collection is designed for lasting durability and versatility. The cot bed transforms into a toddler bed by simply removing the railings and lowering the base height. The dresser features a removable changer top for practicality when your little one outgrows nappies. Finally, the Valencia wardrobe features adjustable rails to create more space for larger garments.
3. Don’t forget about your comfort too!
You’ll be spending just as much time in the nursery as your little one, so it’s important to prioritise your comfort too. Our Carmel nursing chair is the perfect addition to help you relax while feeding, settling, and bonding with your baby. Designed for both comfort and style, Carmel will become a stylish piece of furniture in their bedroom or around your home as they grow up.
