Types of car seat
Baby Car Seats
Rear facing to a minimum of 15 months old. You can either choose a single stage infant carrier (Dream), or a multi stage seat which then converts into the later car seat stages (Motion 2 All Size 360).
Toddler Car Seats
Once your child reaches 15 months in age, you can choose to keep them in an extended rear facing car seat (Motion 2 All Size 360), or move forward facing (Balance i-Size). We recommend to keep your little one rear facing for as long as possible.
Child Car Seats
When your child outgrows their 5 point car seat harness at approximately 4 years old (around 18.5kg in weight for Motion 2 All Size 360, or 21kg in Balance i-Size), the next stage is a high back booster. The Discover i-Size is suitable from 100-150cm, which is approximately 4-12 years old – Motion 2 All Size and Balance i-Size both convert into a high back booster.

Fitting guide
*Although our results are accurate for the vehicles we tested, vehicle variations can occur and for that reason we always suggest having the car seat checked in your car before making a final purchase.
Fitting methods
ISOFIX is an internationally standardised car seat fitting system.
By choosing an ISOFIX car seat, you are choosing one of the safest ways for your child to travel in the car.
- Minimal risk of incorrect installation
- A permanent connection
- Quick installation & easy removal
Some seats can be fitted with the vehicle 3-point seatbelt and do not use ISOFIX.
A belt fit child seat is just as safe as an ISOFIX child seat, provided it is fitted correctly.
- Universal fitment
- Seat tends to be more portable.
- There is a higher chance of fitting the seat incorrectly, so follow the fitting instructions carefully.

Car Safety Tips
Prevent common car seat buying, installation and usage mistakes with this simple list of tips.
Read the fitting instructions carefully. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer
Use a child restraint appropriate to your child's weight and development and until your child reaches 135cm in height or their 12th birthday (whichever is sooner)
Ensure everyone who will be fitting the seat is confident in doing so
Always purchase a new child car seat - you can be sure it has never been in a crash, damaged and all parts and instructions will be present
Always use one seat belt per passenger, little ones should always travel in a car seat, taking up one vehicle seat and seatbelt/ISOFIX
Supervise little one's in the car and take them with you if you will be out of sight - for example, when paying for fuel
Only have soft toys in the car for little ones to play with - anything heavy becomes a projectile in a crash!
Secure heavy items in the boot of the car. If you have no choice but to have a heavy item in the cabin, ensure it is well secured and strapped down so it doesn't fly around in a crash
Check your baby's harness height is correct every time they move up a clothes size
Your car seat cover must always be used when little one is in the seat
Car seat harnesses can be cleaned with warm, soapy water
Silver Cross car seat fabrics are fully removable and can be washed in the machine at 30 degrees
Remove your car seat before your MOT to ensure the seatbelt can be tested - the garage will not test if a car seat is in place
Use the pinch test to ensure the harness straps are tight enough - if you can pinch/fold the car seat strap from top to bottom between the harness pad and buckle, it is too loose
When pulling the car seat harness tight - hold the chest straps just above the buckle and gently pull up toward your child's chest, this will pull all slack through from the hip straps, making it easier to tighten the harness!

How our car seats are tested
Safety is our top priority, testing our seats above and beyond the latest crash test regulations
All of the seats within the Silver Cross collection are tested to the very latest R129 i-Size safety regulations. On top of this we test inline with the more stringent ADAC testing protocols where our seats achieve a number of best in class results. ADAC is an independent German organisation which runs Europe's largest car seat rating programme.
